Have you booked your summer wedding photographer?

Have you booked your summer wedding photographer?

If you’re getting married this summer and thinking of hiring a professional wedding photographer, are they booked yet? If not, better get your skates on as you could be out of luck on some peak dates.

Twice in the past week, couples have got in touch about hiring a professional wedding photographer for Saturdays in July and August. I haven’t been able to help and so have asked colleagues for availability. In one case, even when asking a group of more than 40 photographers, not one was available. Not one. For the other date, there were two available.

So if you are getting married any Friday or weekend between now and the end of September in the UK, please book your photographer as soon as you can. If you don’t, you may end up with either no photographer or no choice.

If it is one of your friends who is getting married, please check with them to make sure they have their photographer booked. The especially busy dates I have found so far for London are July 25, August 29 and September 5. I have been a London wedding photographer for almost 15 years and this is the first time in the past 10 where unavailability has been so pronounced.

For those couples getting in touch for busy dates, I am more than happy to check availability with colleagues and email you their details where available.

Chelsea Football Club wedding

It’s not every bride who willingly allows football to dominate their wedding day, but for Chelsea Football Club fan Sharanjit and her groom Jatindar it was a necessity when they tied the knot in the club’s grounds.

Sharanjit and Jatindar chose the Vialli Suite to exchange their wedding vows with Southwark Registrars.  Sharanjit was a little late for her wedding, which left Jatindar quite a bit of time to get nervous.

Isn’t the blue of Sharanjit’s gown gorgeous! And entirely intended for a Chelsea Football Club wedding!

There’s often a moment when the groom wonders if the ring is going to go on the bride’s finger; this was one of those moments.

Sharanjit, Jatindar and I went into the stands for some portraits of the two of them – relatively quickly given the windy and cool day – which finished off their wedding photography booking.

From Victoria walking in on her father’s arm, looking for her mother already seated in the Rossetti Room, to the way she and Dominic held their son throughout their vows. I’ll let you see the rest for yourselves: here are Victoria and Dominic’s Chelsea Registry Office wedding photos.

London vow renewal: Emma + Chris

Emma and Christopher chose Mayfair Library for their London vow renewal, six years to the day after their wedding. This time, they had family with them who were not able to attend their original ceremony.

As their ceremony was at the end of a London winter day, they chose to start their photography early for some couple portraits in Mount Street Gardens and family photographs before their ceremony. Isn’t Emma’s navy gown gorgeous!
