Annapriya and Innes’ Islington Register Office wedding combined elements of their Scottish and Indian family backgrounds, before taking on a distinctly London flavour at East End pub The Royal Oak, in Columbia Road, known for its Sunday flower market and colourful independent shops.
A Scottish piper played for the guests as they waited outside Islington Town Hall on Upper Street.Â
Innes, his best man Johnny and groomsmen were waiting inside the town hall’s council chamber for the ceremony.
Annapriya and Innes exchange floral garlands as part of their wedding ceremony.
Then it was off to Columbia Road’s Royal Oak pub for some East End hospitality.
Annapriya had a host of  girlfriends vying to catch her bouquet.
Annapriya, Innes and I took a few wedding portraits around Columbia Road and its colourful, independent shops such as Rob Ryan’s Ryantown and this wedding themed window display.
Just look at that late afternoon sunshine.
Best man Johnny entertained guests throughout the day with his anecdotes – mostly adult only ones!
The wedding breakfast was upstairs in the Royal Oak’s dining room, decorated with 60 yards of Scottish tartan bunting made by Innes’ mother.
