ICA wedding photos | Nobuko and Chris
Pink lights and matching fairy cakes added a really soft touch to Chris & Nobuko’s wedding this afternoon at the Institute of Contemporary Arts (ICA), just off Trafalgar Square. When I arrived, Chris and his grandmother were having a few moments together after making final checks on their fabulous flowers, cakes and guests. His dad then attached his buttonhole. The pink and white cakes, surrounded with rose petals, were wonderfully displayed near one of the big windows – and when I went to capture them framed, noticed that you could see one of London’s most famous landmarks as well.

Nobuko turned all heads when she entered – most especially a very nervous Chris.

We photographed a number of family groups, many of them on the ICA’s balcony. Chris’s parents have been learning tango for about a year in Kent, near where they live – and we compared notes on our favourite music. Chris and Nobuko had arranged for some tango music to be played during their evening reception, so they could have a dance – just the kind of thoughtfulness that seemed to go on throughout the day – they’re such sweeties.
