Choosing only one photograph from  Annapriya and Innes’ wedding yesterday was an incredibly difficult task – there was so much joy, colour and love in their day. So in the end, it had to be this one that summed up the atmosphere: Annapriya being congratulated by her friend Jo and Innes being welcomed into the family on the steps of Islington Register Office.

I often receive inquiries about small or intimate weddings and love photographing them. Tanya and Zhewei had an Islington Register Office wedding before hopping into a limousine that took us to St Pancras for a family lunch. They had cleverly planned going to Paris on the Eurostar, so had only to cross a platform to be on their way.
While Zhewei waited in the council chamber, Tanya saw the registrars before arriving on her mother’s arm. It seemed that Zhewei and his father like to pace the floor while his mother appears a little calmer.
Zhewei’s talented brother played the entire Mendelssohn’s Wedding March while the signing of the register took place, which is quite a bit longer than the excerpt I’ve heard previously. He also played the more whimsical waltz from Amelie.
Here is one proud mother.

Tanya and Zhewei had asked for portraits that showed off the architecture of Islington Town Hall. It has some stunning original features and its steps are the centrepiece of the building.
Do we need any more reasons to celebrate?

Here is a single from today’s wedding of Tanya and Zhewei. Â They were married at Islington Town Hall, before us all hopping in a limo to go to the Oyster Bar in St Pancras Station; and just about now, they will be on the Eurostar, which runs from St Pancras, to honeymoon in Paris. Â Their full blog post will be posted in the coming week.

I posted two photographs from Yu-wei and Richard’s Islington Register Office wedding last month which were going to be put on display at their overseas celebrations. I wanted to share some more from the day, now that they are edited. Yu-wei and Richard had a small celebration with family at Islington Register Office then we spent an hour or so on an Islington walkabout portrait session.
They both saw each other beforehand, allowing us time for some portraits at Islington Town Hall.

Yu-wei had the most wonderful vintage style wedding dress that suited her so incredibly well. Her bag was a vintage item that she already had in her wardrobe – it went beautifully.

Then their families arrived and it was time for the ceremony, followed by congratulations and then we left on our portrait walkabout session.

Yu-wei and Richard had their wedding yesterday – the ninth day of the ninth month in 2009 – and we went for a walkabout in Islington for their wedding portraits. I had to select several photographs to be sent to China, where they will celebrate their wedding this weekend. Here they are – one is processed with a vintage feel to match Yu-wei’s dress.
