Thursday, October 22, 2009 | Islington Town Hall, London wedding, Wedding
I posted two photographs from Yu-wei and Richard’s Islington Register Office wedding last month which were going to be put on display at their overseas celebrations. I wanted to share some more from the day, now that they are edited. Yu-wei and Richard had a small celebration with family at Islington Register Office then we spent an hour or so on an Islington walkabout portrait session.
They both saw each other beforehand, allowing us time for some portraits at Islington Town Hall.

Yu-wei had the most wonderful vintage style wedding dress that suited her so incredibly well. Her bag was a vintage item that she already had in her wardrobe – it went beautifully.

Then their families arrived and it was time for the ceremony, followed by congratulations and then we left on our portrait walkabout session.

I’ve just returned from a short break with family which included visiting my three-day-old niece in Gloucestershire, the daughter of my sister Kirsty. She is yet to be named, but since her grandma was visiting from Australia, there were some official portraits taken with daddy Blair and big sister Matilda Rose. I especially love the photographs of Matilda and the new arrival because my earliest memories were of meeting Kirsty, who is 3.5 years younger, wrapped in a similar cotton baby blanket when she arrived home from hospital.

Yu-wei and Richard had their wedding yesterday – the ninth day of the ninth month in 2009 – and we went for a walkabout in Islington for their wedding portraits. I had to select several photographs to be sent to China, where they will celebrate their wedding this weekend. Here they are – one is processed with a vintage feel to match Yu-wei’s dress.

Tuesday, April 28, 2009 | Child portraits, Family portraits, London wedding, Portraits
I photographed Emma and Tim’s wedding six years ago in June. They’re the loveliest couple and we’ve stayed in touch since we lived in Limehouse/Wapping and now I’m in Greenwich and they’re in Herne Hill. We met last week for a London family portrait session with their daughter Beatrice who is about three months old. They’d just returned from 10 days in Venice, where they had honeymooned – and apparently Beatrice was welcomed with open arms across the city by beaming residents, wherever they went.
And Beatrice is very, very cute, especially in this family chair.

And we had some portraits of Emma and Beatrice together, athough missed out on portraits with dad, as tiredness had set in. But that did give me a chance to see Emma & Tim’s photographs from Venice – stored on a lovely wireless server – showing what an IT whizz Tim really is, as well as a reminder of when I went there about a year ago.

Zara and Jamie chose the location for their London engagement portraits, in readiness for their wedding in July. They found the perfect street name near their Clapham home, about four streets away from where I used to live many years ago.
Alongside the lane was a park with wonderfully hewn wooden furniture. This bench was beautiful for its shape … and could be symbolic of their journey through life together.

Ooh, vintage street lamps and iron railings.

Then we moved into the adjacent graveyard, which suited Zara and Jamie’s gothic roots.

Zara is ticklish, apparently…

… and looks fabulous with her hood up.

Jamie had individual portraits as well in the last of the warm afternoon sun.

Awww, aren’t they just so lovely together! Can’t wait to shoot their wedding!
