One of the sweetest things about Sophie and Aelred’s wedding at the Westminster Register Office Reception Room was them holding hands throughout the ceremony. Sophie looked amazing in her vintage dress with red velvet ribbon trim … but you’ll have to wait until the full blog post to see her and her handsome Aelred.
Greenwich couple Raelene & Kevin set up their wedding itinerary yesterday so that I could capture the moment when Kevin set eyes on Raelene. I had known they were arriving at Marylebone Town Hall together on a traditional red double-decker bus with Kevin on the top deck and Raelene on the bottom. Relatives shielded Raelene from Kevin with a pashmina until he had made his way to the top of the town hall steps and was looking away. Raelene could then walk up behind him, ready for him to turn around.

Raelene and Kevin had composed their own vows to each other – and could not have looked happier when they were pronounced man and wife.
Raelene’s two bridesmaids Michelle and Pam had handed out cones of confetti to the guests, who had arranged themselves very neatly down the steps of Marylebone Town Hall to wish Raelene and Kevin well.
Kevin’s first duty as husband was to hold a compact mirror for Raelene to touch up her lipstick. He was a huge success … and wonderfully, the compact matched Raelene’s Jenny Packham dress as if it was made to order.
We stopped off by Lambeth Bridge to get some photographs of the bridal party with the Houses of Parliament in the background – a very London scene. This is one of my faves and includes the distinctive Thames lights with fish details that Raelene very much wanted included.
The bus then took us all to The Guildford, a Greenwich brasserie close to Raelene and Kevin’s (and my) home. After canapes and Pimms in the sunshine, I took Raelene in the street just outside The Guildford for some portraits. Kevin joined us for a few more before it was time for them to sit down for dinner.
Leon & Maya were just the smiliest couple when they were married at Westminster Register Office today. Maya had the difficult job of getting Leon’s many names (about four) right as they exchanged vows and was beautifully emotional throughout the ceremony.
Their mothers are such sweethearts.
We took a few photographs in the surrounding area before they went off to their home a short walk away to celebrate with family and friends – with Maja raising her bouquet as a tour guide might hold their umbrella aloft, to show their guests where to go. They had gone on a pre-honeymoon – a week-long holiday before their wedding – which sounded like a wonderful idea.
As I’m posting this, Kate & Steve will have finished their wedding breakfast and be heading for Heathrow and their honeymoon – at base camp on Mt Everest. They married in front of their closest family at Westminster Register Office this morning, with Kate looking stunning in a red dress, gold shoes and a white fur. A large Christmas tree filled the Yellow Room with piney smells and guests wore festive red buttonholes. Afterwards, they went to Elena’s L’Etoile restaurant in the West End, where their private room was on the top floor – giving their families cause to joke that the altitude was appropriate.
Below are some photographs from their day, including Kate with her mother and Steve with his – they were so happy!
Mayumi looked totally stunning in her ivory gown and veil at Islington Register Office. What started out as a dull day weather-wise just got brighter during their ceremony, so they had startling sunshine for confetti throwing on the steps afterwards and their Routemaster bus for the journey into Soho for their reception. Nick was as excited as a groom could be and his mum couldn’t stop beaming. Awwww – what a fabulous Saturday afternoon.
