Here’s a single from Vanessa and Will’s wedding yesterday at Westminster Register Office. It was taken as we were doing some portraits before the ceremony and noticed Paul standing near us on the footpath with his copy of The Sun tucked under his arm. Â The local character was very happy to be photographed with Vanessa and Will and made their London day even more special. More to come next week, when the rest of the wedding is edited.

Jackie and Khalid’s wedding at Westminster Register Office’s Yellow Room was very much an intimate family occasion.
If you were looking for a second witness, that was me – so a little tricky to photograph. Â After photos on the Old Marylebone Town Hall steps, we went to the Ritz. Â Some of us were more interested in the journey than others.
Jackie and Khalid had booked afternoon tea at the Ritz. Although we weren’t able to take any photos where this was taking place, we did some more family portraits on the stairs before leaving them to enjoy their afternoon.

I quite often photograph London midweek Westminster Register Office weddings with the couple and a few guests, loving the innate intimacy. It also means that we can do some portraits – especially if the couple is about to move to Canada and wants to capture the London-ness of their ceremony, with black cabs, red post boxes and double-decker buses … and did I mention rain and umbrellas? Vicki and Dave’s Westminster Register Office wedding in London yesterday was a fabulously warm mix of cultures and hugs finished off with a 10-course banquet. I started with Vicki getting ready and then popped to Dave’s room, where he was getting ready with his son Jack. But first, the shoes.

Once Vicki had gone through checks with the registrars, Dave was waiting.
Luckily, when Dave was getting ready, he put two hankies in his pockets.
When we arrived at the Paddington Novotel, Vicki’s niece took her job as flowergirl to include helping Vicki with her veil during the drinks reception.
After Vicki and Dave had spent some time with their guests, we went outside for some portraits. It was a tad windy.
We came back inside the hotel and I stole Vicki away for a portrait with this hot pink paintwork.
Dave’s son Jack was very popular with some of his new and younger relatives. This little girl kept following him around the hotel, imitating his every move.
