It’s always lovely to shoot a wedding within walking distance of home – and that was the case for Jane and Ian’s Trafalgar Tavern wedding, on the Thames riverside in Greenwich.
Ian arrived on schedule for a pint and his interview with the Greenwich registrars in the Nelson Banqueting Rooms.

Jane also arrived in good time with her bridesmaids and flower girls.

Married!

Jane and Ian celebrated their wedding with some champagne and greeting their guests, followed by some portraits along the Thames and in front of the Old Royal Naval College to make the most of the brilliant summer weather.

After that, it was back to the Trafalgar for some chilled casual photographs of guests relaxing on a hot Friday afternoon by the river.
Many of the guests asked me to do portraits of them, quite often with their nearest and dearest. I love doing portraits – and we had some beautiful afternoon light.

One of Jane’s flower girls was very keen to keep her dress safe from the dirty floor.
Jane and Ian’s speeches took place after their meal in the traditional way. There must have been quite a bit of grit in the air judging by the moist eyes of those on the top and surrounding tables.
