I haven’t posted in here in a few weeks – I’ve been seriously apartment-hunting and think that I may have found the right place, but it’s going to take some more time and paperwork and a lot of finger-crossing to ensure that the sale goes ahead. After one or two dead ends, I found just the T-shirt for my state of mind … if you’ve ever seen Little Britain, you’ll understand.
Last night was spent at a Wedding Showcase at the Crown Moran Hotel in Cricklewood. It’s a great venue with an amazing modern staircase and wonderfully stylish contemporary interiors, adjoining a traditional Irish pub.
I met some wonderful couples at the showcase and experienced the wonders of a chocolate fountain from Le Chocolatier. Fortunately, I discovered that the delicious smell of chocolate seems to disappear after about 10 minutes (a good thing). However, at the end of the evening, one of the fountain hosts suggested that I try a macaroon covered in chocolate … it was indeed, as he had suggested, like a Bounty bar … only better.
On my way back from the showcase, I noticed that one of the corporate buildings at Moorgate had stunning floral arrangements in mostly black vases – the clear vase base and plinth just seem to disappear so that the vase and enclosed flowers are shown off – almost in midair.
